All Bloggers Must Disclose Hidden Interest

In the last quarter of  2009, the FTC required  that  ALL bloggers must  provide disclosures whenever there could be hidden interests or unspoken biases related to recommendations.

I did get a free  black t-shirt with big white Blekko lettering printed on the front and a colored circle logo on the back. Support Blekko’s  Slashing the Web.

 So, if  I – and I am quoting Tim Ferriss here – “… interview someone and they grab the bill for lunch, I would need to specify this. Ditto if I use an Amazon link that gets me 8 cents instead of an Amazon link that gets me 0 cents. If someone gives me a comfy t-shirt with a logo and I wear it in a photo, same deal. Disclaimers all over the place.”

Honestly, I don’t believe that  I will be heard by enough people to make any of my recommendations worthy of the treasures that may be heaped upon me, but never-the-less, as Ferriss says “Rules are Rules”.
